Malayalam star Mammootty has been garnering praise from all the audiences in India for his choice of doing films and selection of scripts. His recent venture, Bramayugam, is a box office hit praising his experimentations with the actor. Now, his son, Dulquer Salmaan, is to follow in his footsteps regarding his next venture.

Now, reports have surfaced from sources and netizens following the success of the Malayalam film. Dulquer Salmaan’s upcoming movie Kaantha will also be shot in monochrome. Director Selvamani, who helmed Kaantha, confirmed the reports that the forthcoming horror-thriller will also be shot in black and white; the filmmaker tells us, “That’s not true.” When asked about what the movie is about, he remained tight-lipped.

However, Selvamani did give us an update on when the much-anticipated project, which will be released in all South languages, will go on floors. “We are currently awaiting Dulquer to finish shooting his portions for Mani (Ratnam) sir’s movie (Thug Life). Once that is done, we will begin the shoot,” he says.

Dulquer, meanwhile, is also wrapping up portions of his Telugu financial thriller Lucky Baskar, which Venky Atluri helms. Earlier this month, the team revealed the actor’s character poster from the movie, which also has Meenakshi Chaudhary. Actor and producer Dulquer Salmaan will headline “Kaantha,” which he will produce alongside “Baahubali” star Rana Daggubati.
