Akriti Kakar reminisces about her Musical journey.

Akriti Kakar

Singer Akriti Kakar is from India. She achieved fame with the songs “Saturday Saturday” from the movie Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and “Iski Uski” from 2 States. Akriti was set to compete on Colors’ Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa and served as a judge on Zee Bangla’s Sa Re Ga Ma Pa: Li’l Champions. She was raised in Delhi, where she was born. Sukriti Kakar and Prakriti Kakar, her identical twin sisters, are also playback singers. In 2016, she wed the director Chirag Arora.
Time When She Decided to be a Singer, She Stated that “My mother was a music teacher in a Delhi school and has a doctorate in music. She introduced me to Lataji, Ashaji, and other classical legends. Along with my grandfather, she introduced me to Punjabi folk music early on. I was three years old when I sang a Punjabi folk song with completely made-up lyrics. That’s when my family noticed I had a talent for singing. Formal training, therefore, began with my mother, followed by several gurus who assisted me in honing various styles of music and skill sets.
Akriti’s Opinion about Independent Music ‘The world is ready to hear new voices and new sounds; just expect the unexpected to work nowadays. It’s stopped mattering whether a song is from a film or a first-time artiste is releasing their music on even just Instagram. If it breaks the clutter, it will stand out and work. It’s the best time for music as an industry because the monopoly is getting diluted and newer voices are being given equal importance and space on all platforms.
