Ajay Devgan recalls how Bollywood used to be back then

Ajay Devgan is a senior actor who started his career in 1991 with the film Phool Aur Kaante, an action-romance film directed by Kuku Kohli and known for portraying action and comedy roles from then onwards.

The actor is invited to the ongoing Karan Johar’s popular chat show, Koffee With Karan, season 8. During the chat with Karan Johar, Devgan recalled the old Bollywood and how different it was from the present Bollywood.

Ajay Devgan appeared on the show with his frequent collaborator, Rohit Shetty. When Karan asked Devgn about the industry of yesteryears, he asked him if it was a “very different and “far more purer industry.”

Responding to that, Ajay said, “Lots of warmth. Everybody was supporting everybody. People were happy watching each other’s films, but if they liked each other’s films also, it’s very different today. I have a chain of cinemas, so my feeling is very very different. I am the most happy any film that works, but most people wait for that Friday that the numbers are not good, but they don’t realize how it is harming us and less films are being made, less investors are there. We are all struggling”.

Devgan also mentioned how today’s technicians and cinemas compete with Hollywood without that budget. He concluded that it is easy to judge a film by calling it good or bad without realizing the things behind it.
