Adipurush is the epitome of the great disaster. It’s raging so many parts of India, that its pushing the saturation levels beyond healthy limits. It’s creating war within the country. When the VFX and storyline was so dramatically terrible, the least they could do is keep the dialogues as is. But no, with ‘modernity’, they modified the dialogues too, using slangs and words that probably didn’t exist in the times when Ramayana was written. The whole team has collectively invited threat to the movie. First Om Raut with his genius idea of creative adaptation, then Manoj Muntashir with his ‘jalegi bhi tere baap ki’ dialogue. Muntashir was supposedly high when he was writing such ridiculous dialogues associated with Lord Hanuman. ‘Jalegi’ is definitely happening, so much so that the police had to intervene.
Several accusations have surfaced from the making of the film. A group of people staged a protest in Varanasi and tore posters of the film and the Hindu Mahasabha lodged a complaint with the Lucknow police against its makers on Monday. Joining the chorus against the film, the Samajwadi Party said the faithful are hurt by its “cheap and superficial dialogues” and that the film was part of an “agenda”. Consequently, he was provided police protection by Mumbai Police because of the death threats he has begun to receive publicly.
This movie has brought the whole entertainment industry – especially the censor board – into question. What more is to come with Adipurush still playing in theatres with no regulations?
