12th Fail is a 2023 Indian Hindi-language biographical drama film written and directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra. The movie is based on real-life events and draws inspiration from the real love story of IPS officer Manoj Kumar and his wife, IRS officer Shraddha Joshi. The couple recently discussed their love story and explained how things worked between them.
During an interaction, Manoj expressed his opinion on love and said, “One cannot live without love.” he then opened up about how he was determined to present himself as an ideal life partner to his wife. Recalling the moment of their first interaction, he said it was her name that attracted him first, and he felt there was something special in her.
He later shared how she didn’t even bother to think when he proposed to her, so he asked her if they could be friends. To gain Shraddha’s love, Manoj learned how to make tea as she came from the mountains. He further pressed that his initial concern was to make Shraddha believe that he was a good man, and to achieve that, he would prepare two rotis for her along with pickles.
Witnessing Manoj Kumar Sharma’s determination to win Shraddha Joshi’s heart, his close friend Anurag Pathak, the author of the book 12th Fail, advised him to concentrate on his studies instead of pursuing a romantic interest. However, Manoj responded to Anurag by stating, “I can study later, but I should not let this girl go.”
12th fail movie It is based on the 2019 eponymous non-fiction book by Anurag Pathak about the real-life story of Manoj Kumar Sharma, who overcame extreme poverty to become an Indian Police Service officer. The film stars Vikrant Massey in the title role alongside Medha Shankar, Anant V Joshi, Anshumaan Pushkar, and Priyanshu Chatterjee.
