Nikhil’s 18 pages Started off slowly..

We are at the end of this year, comparatively the second half of the year has good results with the first half of the year. For this last week, we have a few biggies to release in 2022, 18 Pages, and Dhamaka opened to positive responses from critics on December 23.

Nikhil Siddhartha, Anupama Parameswaran starrer 18 Pages was aimed at the younger lot but Mass Maharaj Ravi Teja’s Dhamaka was an out-and-out masala entertainer made for the masses. Let’s take a look at these two releases with some brief points of view. The Palnati Surya Pratap directorial 18 pages received decent responses from critics though the opening day was quite slow. And even before its release, the makers announced that prices also decreased.

According to a trade analysts report, 18 Pages collected Rs 2.35 crores gross on its opening day worldwide. This love drama released in 400 theatres in both the Telugu states, nearly grossed a crore each in the Nizam, and Andhra regions while earning nearly Rs 25 lakh gross in the ceded regions. Across India and overseas regions, 18 Pages gross was Rs 30 lakh and Rs 80 lakh respectively.

The overall tally share for 18 Pages reached Rs 1.75 crores. The film needs to collect Rs 11 crore more to attain a breakeven status. While this is by all means a decent opening, one expected 18 Pages to perform better, especially after the lead pair’s earlier hit Karthikeya 2. Gopi Sundar’s songs Time Ivvu Pilla, Yedu Rangula Vaana and Nannaya Raasina turned out to be a hit with music buffs too. On the other side, Raviteja’s Dhamaka grossed more than 10.3 crores in its first day. The film did business of 50 crore. But comparative with 18 pages, Dhamaka has better hold on its day two also.
