Renowned filmmaker Sangeeth Sivan passes away

Sangeeth Sivan, a prominent director-screenwriter, left an indelible mark on the Indian film industry. His sudden demise at the age of 65, following a cardiac arrest, has left the film fraternity in shock. Santosh Sivan, his cinematographer-brother, confirmed the sad news.

Actor Riteish Deshmukh also mourned Sangeeth Sivan’s demise. He posted a photo of the director and penned an emotional note. Riteish recalled how, as a newcomer, he yearned for someone to believe in him and provide an opportunity.

Sangeeth Sivan did just that by casting him in films like “Kya Kool Hai Hum” and “Apna Sapna Money Money.” Describing Sivan as soft-spoken, gentle, and a wonderful human being, Riteish expressed his deepest condolences to the filmmaker’s family. He fondly remembered Sivan’s infectious laughter and bid him farewell with the words, “Rest in Glory.”
