Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2(LSD2) Box Office Collections Day 4

Dibakar Banerjee’s “Love Sex Aur Dhoka 2″(LSD2 box office)experienced a significant decline in its box office performance. After its peak day on Sunday, where it raked in Rs 40 lakh, the film witnessed a sharp drop on Monday, with collections dwindling to Rs 8 lakh. With this, the domestic total collections for the film have reached Rs 73 lakhs.

LSD2 Box Office Collections

This marks Vidya Balan’s second consecutive flop, following “Neeyat”. Similarly, Dibakar Banerjee has struggled to deliver a successful film in recent years, facing challenges even with releases like “Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar”, which received a lackluster response during the pandemic era.

With both “Do Aur Do Pyaar” and “Love Sex Aur Dhoka 2” collectively earning less than Rs 35 lakh on Monday, the road ahead for these films appears daunting. Moreover, they are competing with holdover Eid releases such as “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan” and “Maidaan”, both of which have also fared poorly at the box office. Overall, it is proving to be a particularly challenging period for the Hindi film industry.

“Love Sex Aur Dokha 2” intertwines three distinct storylines to delve into the modern-day addiction to social media. While the film saw promising turnout on its opening Sunday, it seems poised for a decline once again. Typically, weekends witness the highest box office receipts, leading to a downturn on Mondays. The film’s producers attempted to draw in more audiences by offering a buy-one-get-one ticket promotion on its debut day, but this strategy seems to have fallen short.

Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2 Plot

The movie is structured around three narratives: the first chapter (LIKE) focuses on a transgender woman named Noor (portrayed by Paritosh Tiwari); the second chapter (SHARE) centers on another transgender woman named Kullu (played by Bonita Rajpurohit); and the third chapter (DOWNLOAD) follows a young gamer named Abhinav Santosh Singh, whose obsession with gaining followers leads to trouble. “Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2” delves into the intricate realities of the digital era, with Ektaa R Kapoor producing the film under the banner of Balaji Motion Pictures.

In an interview with india.com, Dibakar Banerjee discusses the appropriateness of “Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2” for Indian audiences and the challenges faced by filmmakers in producing bold content in the country. Banerjee reflects, “I think India is nothing but love, sex, and dhokha 2.” He underscores the challenges involved, emphasizing the filmmakers’ intention for the film to be experienced on the big screen rather than through OTT platforms. Banerjee highlights budget constraints and the fear of potential controversy or backlash as significant hurdles in the production process. He acknowledges the reluctance of individuals to face criticism or harassment in the face of bold artistic endeavors.
