Do Aur Do Pyaar Box Office Collections: Day 5

Vidya Balan and Pratik Gandhi’s latest cinematic venture, ‘Do Aur Do Pyaar’, is encountering a sluggish performance at the box office as the weekdays unfold. Despite garnering rave reviews from various quarters, the film struggled to translate the critical acclaim into substantial financial returns, with a mere net earning of Rs 25 lakh in Indian theaters on April 23, Tuesday. The producers are now in a waiting game, hoping for a potential resurgence in audience interest over the approaching weekend.

Released worldwide on April 19, 2024, ‘Do Aur Do Pyaar’ found itself in direct competition with Ektaa Kapoor’s ‘LSD 2′ upon its theatrical debut.

The romantic comedy flick commenced its journey with a modest opening, collecting Rs 55 lakh on its inaugural day. While it experienced a slight uptick over its first weekend, grossing over Rs 1.50 crore across Saturday and Sunday, the momentum failed to sustain into the weekdays. On Tuesday, April 23, the film’s earnings were estimated at Rs 26 lakh net within the Indian theatrical circuit.

With the accumulation of five days’ worth of receipts, ‘Do Aur Do Pyaar’ presently boasts a domestic box office collection totaling Rs 2.87 crore. On April 23, the film managed to maintain an occupancy rate of 9.25 percent, with the bulk of its audience turnout occurring during the night screenings.

‘Do Aur Do Pyaar’ marks the directorial debut of Shirsha Guha Thakurta, presenting a romantic comedy ensemble featuring Vidya Balan, Pratik Gandhi, Ileana D’Cruz, and Sendhil Ramamurthy in pivotal roles. The screenplay is a collaborative effort, attributed to Suprotim Sengupta, Amrita Bagchi, and Eisha Chopra.

For Ileana, ‘Do Aur Do Pyaar’ signifies her cinematic return post-motherhood, marking her first appearance on the silver screen since ‘The Big Bull’, where she starred alongside Abhishek Bachchan. Meanwhile, Sendhil’s inclusion in the cast adds further intrigue, as the actor last graced Hindi cinema in the critically acclaimed ‘Shor in the City’, following a notable stint in the 2022 series, ‘Doom Patrol’.
