Ajay Devgn’s Shaitaan Box Office collections: First Monday netts strong

Shaitaan Box Office Collections

Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan’s Shaitaan have had a much better start than expected at the Indian box office, and to an extent, Mahashivratri played a crucial role in it. The film has received positive attention since its release, and here is how much it garnered at the box office.

Shaitaan saw a blockbuster opening on Friday, earning ₹14.75 crore net on March 8, the day it was released, in India. It saw a 27.12% growth on Saturday and earned ₹18.75 crore net. Next, it was a 9.33% growth on Sunday as it earned ₹20.5 crore net.

However, on Monday, the movie saw a massive drop of 65.85% and earned ₹7 crore net in the domestic market. India’s net box office collection now stands at ₹61.5 crore. With ₹ 15.5 crore business in the overseas market, the total box office collection of the movie is now ₹80 worldwide.

The 4-day collection of Shaitaan stands at Rs 62 crores, and the week one will be close to Rs 80 crores. The target for the Ajay Devgn-fronted supernatural-thriller would be to get to around Rs 150 crores, which it certainly can, provided it doesn’t take the audience to Yodha in the coming week.

Is Shaitaan another HanuMan?

Shaitaan is a very smartly budgeted film. The movie was shot in just about 40 days, and that’s where its victory lies. Makers have recovered all their investments from non-theatrical releases.

The film is expected to cross 100 crores at the theatrical box office before Friday, with expectations shot up through word of mouth. Yodha may overlap, but this upcoming release’s reception will surely clear things up for the movie and box office collection budget.

Shaitaan has been playing at a theatre near you since March 8, 2024. Tickets for the film can be booked from the box office outside theatres or through online ticketing platforms.
