Anil Sunkara is one of the new generation producers who produces films without compromising on the quality in Tollywood. Anil, who has a large scale of business in the US, once made huge films with Ram Achanta and Gopinath Achanta under the banner of ’14 Reels’. On the other hand, while making such big films, he used to make small and medium films as well under his own banner ‘AK Entertainments’.After completely coming out of ’14 Reels’, Anil is making both small and big films under his AK banner.
However, he is making films with budgets beyond the market level of the respective heroes and directors, setting good combinations. But the unfortunate thing is most of them haven’t bagged him profits. Trusting the director of ‘RX 100’, ‘Mahasamudram’, which he made on a big budget, left a bitter experience. Apart from this, the movie that hit him badly recently was Akhil’s ‘Agent’.Anil made ‘Agent’ with a budget of Rs.80 crores with trust in Akhil, who is striving for a hit.
His trust in a star director like Surender Reddy is also the reason for his budget. But ‘Agent’ could not recover even half of the investment. Many warned him about the budget even before the film started, but he ignored it. But ‘Agent’ left more losses for Anil than any other film in these years. But a small film ‘Samajavaragamana’ starring Sree Vishnu, which was made with just five per cent of the budget of ‘Agent’, is now giving great relief to Anil. ‘Samajavaragamana’ is entering the second week with good collections as the release got a super hit talk without many expectations and the situation at the box office is stupendous. It looks like this movie will reach the share mark of Rs.20 crores in its full run. Anil sold the film at good profits in some areas. Non-theatrical rights are also fetching a good rate. It should be said that this film is giving relief to the wounds caused by ‘Agent’ to Anil.
