Raveena Tandon in a recent interaction recently stated about the issue of equal pay as an artist. Previously Kareena Kapoor also mentioned how pay disparity is high in the industry. The days have changed, though it is prominent even to date. Raveena Tandon shares how it was in the initial days of her career.
Here’s what Raveena Tandon shared during the interaction with a media portal:
“Back in the day, there was a significant disparity in pay between male and female actors, with male stars earning substantially more. Raveena, speaking from her own experience, noted that what male actors made in one film, she would earn in around 15 films. She clarified that she couldn’t speak for everyone, but for her, it took 15 to 20 films to match the earnings of her male counterparts. She observed that male co-stars like Aamir Khan and Salman Khan were selective with their projects, while actresses often worked with numerous actors. Overall, she emphasized that compared to the present, the pay was considerably lower back then.”
