Another huge risk for Prabhas’ film buyers

Salaar is one of the most anticipated films in recent times. As Prabhas teamed up with director Prashant Neel, who created a sensation with ‘KGF’, the film has huge expectations. The film is going to hit the screens in less than three months and the teaser of ‘Saalar’ was also launched today. Despite the mixed response, expectations for the film haven’t been reduced.

Even in the trade circles, the hype for this movie is not usual. The production company Hombale Films is building a business that caters to this craze. It is reported that Hombale Films, which has become one of the biggest production companies in the country by making unexpected profits with the two parts of ‘KGF’ and then Kantara, is looking to cash in on the Prashant Neel-Prabhas combination craze.

Hombale Films is targeting an income of more than Rs.600 crores with only theatrical rights for ‘Salaar’. Rs.200 crores has been quoted for the rights to Telugu states only. It is reported that Rs.80 crores are being spent on Nizam area, and Rs.120 crores are being spent on Andhra and Rayalaseema. But no matter how much ‘Saalar’ is hyped, a few trade experts expressed that these rates are too much. People’s Media, which released the movie ‘Adipurush’, taking the rights by Rs.160 crores, is bound to incur huge losses. There was no less hype for Adipurush as well. Even though it performed well till the weekend, it brought huge losses.

Now again it is not a small thing to get a share of Rs.200 crores. Actually, Prabhas’ last three movies drowned the buyers. Buyers are afraid of Prabhas. If it is like this, it will be a heavy burden for Prabhas to get a share of Rs.200 crores and a gross of Rs.300 crores together with ‘Saalar’ just in Telugu states. However, if the film gets positive talk and everything is put together, it may not be difficult to break even, but if there is any difference, the buyers will definitely drown hugely.
