The future of the Brahmastra franchise is uncertain after Dharma Productions and Hotstar decided to part ways and sell the entire Astraverse intellectual property. However, there is some good news for fans of the franchise as Jio Studios is reportedly ready to acquire the entire IP with a multi-million dollar deal.
Brahmastra is a highly anticipated science-fiction entertainer based on the mythological conceptual story that features a star-studded cast including Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna Akkineni and others. Part one was released in 2021, and it bagged huge appreciation from the audience and critics as well.
The director Ayan Mukerji had a longer vision to expand this franchise that sets excitement. However, with the departure of Dharma Productions and Hotstar, the future of the franchise was thrown into question.
Now, it seems that Jio Studios is poised to take over the franchise with a significant investment. As of the latest, Jio is looking forward to expanding its roots in the entertainment industry as well and is picking up solid choices like this to go up with the momentum they had with their OTT platform Jio Cinema.
