Rajamouli’s RRR planned to get released on Pay-Per-View aka TVOD (Transactional Video On Demand) feature on OTT platform ZEE5, took back its decision after KGF’s digital premiere.
KGF: Chapter 2 was recently made available on Amazon Prime Video under the Pay-Per-View method. It means non-prime members and existing prime members should pay an amount to watch the film, irrespective of their subscription. Surprisingly, Amazon hasn’t even announced when it will turn it free for existing subscribers.
However, this strategy neither gained a positive response nor the audience’s views. In fact, subscribers feel that OTT platforms are playing a new game to loot the public and question why existing customers should have to pay to watch the film.
With such negative feedback on the Pay-Per-View feature on OTT, another biggie RRR, which planned to start its digital premiere on the pay-per-view model on Zee5 from May 20, has taken back its decision. So happy news is that RRR will be made available for free to all ZEE5 subscribers.
The film stars Jr NTR and Ram Charan and has Alia Bhatt, Sriya, Olivia, and Ajay Devgn in crucial roles.
