Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani: Deleted scenes to get added in OTT release?

Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani

“Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani,” a captivating romantic drama, has captured the adoration of film enthusiasts worldwide with its heartfelt exploration of relationships and love. This movie marks the triumphant return of seasoned director Karan Johar to filmmaking after a significant hiatus of 7 years, and it has undoubtedly become a resounding commercial triumph. Starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles, the film is Johar’s most extended creation.

The Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani team organized a press conference in Mumbai to rejoice in the film’s triumph. Director Karan Johar, along with the lead actors Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh and the rest of the crew, enthusiastically shared insights about the movie and playfully responded to the media’s inquiries. However, amidst the celebration, the male lead expressed his disappointment with the decision to trim the film to fit the optimal theatre duration.

The original runtime of the romantic drama was 3 hours and 10 minutes. However, Karan Johar and his team decided to edit out approximately 22 minutes of the movie. Among the trimmed content were scenes like Rocky’s dialogue “Love hai to sab hai” to Rani, the end credits song “Kudmayi,” and other amusing sequences. These deletions were necessary to reduce the film’s excessive duration and ensure an optimal cinematic experience for the audience.

At the press conference, Ranveer Singh made a special request to his director, urging Karan Johar to consider including the deleted scenes, including Rani’s theme song, in the OTT version of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. Ranveer mentioned that many people were keen to see those scenes. Karan Johar smiled in response and playfully said, “We’ll see,” leaving the possibility open for fulfilling the actor’s request.

“Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani” features Ranveer Singh in the endearing portrayal of Rocky Randhawa, a simple yet kind-hearted Punjabi boy, and Alia Bhatt as the strong and independent journalist Rani Chatterjee.
The film’s soulful music was composed by Pritam, while Manush Nandan and Nitin Baid contributed their talents in cinematography and editing, respectively.
