Here’s what Shahid Kapoor has to to say on the Ott Projects

In 2023, Shahid Kapoor, a 20-year veteran of the Hindi cinema industry, made his first foray into the OTT space with the web series Farzi from Raj and DK. With the publication of the movie Bloody Daddy later that year, which was also made available on an OTT platform, he further established his online presence. Both of Shahid’s OTT ventures have received a lot of positive feedback from fans and have become the most popular ones in their respective genres. The Haider actor revealed his OTT success in a recent interview, explaining why having a big name doesn’t ensure success on all platforms.

Shahid recently shared this advice with a source: “As an actor, you should not assume that simply because you are a star, people will appreciate you universally! The audience has developed into a fairly mature group with quite distinct tastes. I was curious to observe how others would react to me there.

He further added, “There are highs and lows which I feel are very opposing in nature. You can see that happening to various actors who are super successful, and nothing is working. It’s important to build a reputation. You really have to think whether you are here for 10 years, 15, or 30 years- you have to understand what game you are playing. Are you running a 100-metre race or a marathon? As a leading man, it is important to understand how long you want to be here, and if you are playing the big game. Then one or two (low) years here and there should not derail you.”

He also said, “I have always craved to have the audience’s respect. I feel once an artist, whether it’s a filmmaker or actor, even a sportsperson, has the people’s respect, they will be able to create consistency in their graph. Things are very unpredictable.”
