Hansal Mehta is known for movies like Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story, Woodstock Villa, CityLights, and Shahid. Is now back with a bang! The trailer for his next, Scoop, was launched on May 15. This Netflix series is a hard-hitting crime drama starring Karishma Tanna, Harman Baweja, Prosenjit Chatterjee, and Mohd Zeeshan Ayyub.
Scoop, Hansal Mehta’s next directorial venture, is slated to release on June 2 and stars Karishma Tannaa as Jagruti and Jaideb Sen as Prosenjit Chatterjee were in the lead role. The trailer starts off on a very good note and gives us a glimpse of protagonist Jagruti Pathak’s life. However, very soon, she receives a phone call from the underworld don, Chhota Rajan, and things spiral down from there. Jagruti (Karishma Tanna) then gets intertwined in a conspiracy where it is believed that her closeness to Rajan was the reason for the murder of a very senior crime journalist, Jaideb Sen (played by Prosenjit Chatterjee). The Story series is inspired by Behind The Bars In Byculla: My Days in Prison, a biography written by journalist and crime reporter Jigna Vora, which chronicles her experiences after being accused of the murder of another reporter, J Dey.
Meanwhile, Hansal Mehta has an exciting project in the pipeline his series on Mahatma Gandhi will be a big one, and principal photography for the same will commence sometime this year. In a recent interview, he also said that preparations for the historical project are going on in full swing and might complete by the year-end.
