The series was shot in a real panchayat office. The story is about a panchayat officer who struggles to deal with people with different personalities in the village. Both series received critical acclaim for the direction, cinematography, acting, and writing. especially the acting performance of all the lead actors was critically acclaimed. Jitendra Kumar who played the lead role in both series won Filmfare Award for Best Actor in Comedy, Critics for panchayat season 2. Neena Gupta won Filmfare Award best-supporting Actress in a comedy.
