Custody is a Telugu and Tamil bilingual movie starring Yuvasamrat Naga Chaitanya, Krithi Shetty, and Aravind Swamy, directed by Venkat Prabhu. But became a huge disaster at the box office in both Telugu and Tamil. It created much buzz with teasers and trailers but failed to impress the audience at the theatre.
The film had a 25 crore target when it was released, but only made 7 crores overall; the loss was almost 18 crores. In Tamil, director Venkat Prabhu made films starring a variety of heroes and gave them life when they were unable to make blockbuster films. This movie was therefore much anticipated because Chaithu likewise had trouble achieving a hit.

Following the box office disaster, Recently the OTT platform began offering this movie. Amazon Prime is now offering streaming of it. However, it should come as surprise that this film has a strong OTT viewership and a favourable audience reaction on Prime. From the first day of its release, this movie seized the top rank, and it still holds that spot now. A failing film at box office receiving a favourable reception on OTT is truly unexpected.
On the work front, Chaitanya is now doing a series with Vikram K. Kumar, and director Venkat Prabhu also announced his next project with Thalapathy Vijay.
