The decline in ratings in recent Korean dramas makes it evident that Kdramas are unable to hook the audience like previously. What went wrong is it the beauty standards or similar stories?
The audience had great expectations from the recent releases The Time Called You and Destined With You. The 12-episode series Time Called You has an excellent cast and holds a bewitching storyline but it is the beauty standards that didn’t match Ahn’s look suggested the sources. The story was well narrated but most critics implied it is melancholy with their ratings.
Rowoon and Jo-Bo-Ah’s weekly 16-episode drama shows ups and downs in the rating due to its same old love story with a difference in theme. The fantasy drama’s ratings soar on the first day of release but the chemistry is so-so. It justified the Comedy aspect as a romance-comedy but the chemistry is so-so. The drama started off with a rating of 2.9 but came down to 2.5 in the Korean household rating category.
