“You’re a mom now, can you sign an OTT show?” Neha Dhupia validates such s*xist comments

Jab Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya? This blockbuster Bollywood movie’s actress, Neha Dhupia has recently been found in a lot of reality shows like MTV Roadies, Spiltzvilla, and others. Around a few years back, she got married to her Punjabi Munda, Angad Bedi, the brain-wrecking guy from Pink. Following this memorable event, she gave birth to two little sunshines, Guriq and Mehr.

Women in this world are often considered incapable or ‘caged’ after they’ve given birth. It’s inevitable that kids do need a mother’s love and attention in their initial years but so do they from their father. But, the hypocrites of this world have conveniently rested on their couches and pressured women to excel in both motherhood and career without a whimper. To add to the misery, they also fill a mother’s life with taunts and disgraceful comments, questioning her worth every step of the way.

Although the Indian film industry is a whole different bubble world in front of the rest of the population, it still hasn’t changed one thing – discrimination against mothers. Neha Dhupia, among countless others, underwent the same. However, in an interview with Faye D’Souza, Neha gave us a different lens to look from. She said that questions like “You’ve become a mom, will you be able to sign on an OTT show and give us this much time? How’s it going back home?” are valid and necessary.

But she also admitted that she’s been fired because of her pregnancy, calling it unfair.

The woman community has mixed feelings about this statement. Neha Dhupia, again, has landed herself at controversial crossroads.
