Adivi Sesh’s Major could be his spike to claim the Pan India glory. The movie already has huge expectations all over the country. The trailer was cut emotionally and evoked the supreme sacrifice of Late Major Unni Krishnan based on his true story. Trusting the film, prestigious production house Sony Pictures is doing its best to promote and trying for the maximum number of screens possible for the release. Inside sources expose that Sony expects Major to rain collections in Hindi. The movie combines emotions and a classic military action flick.
Most importantly, the patriotic and nationalistic feeling in the movie is a significant factor in what Sony is placing its bets on. The company is sure that the film will do well in the North and all the metro cities. What would be the case in Mass centers is to be witnessed in theatres only. Patriotism and strong emotions may convince them, too, says the trade sources.
Directed by Sasikiran Tikka, Major has casting like Prakash Raj, Revathi, Shobita Dulipala, and Rao Ramesh alongside the lead Adivi Sesh. During the attacks on Mumbai on 26/11, Major Unni Krishnan bravely fought with the terrorists while sacrificing his life to save 14 hostages. He was subsequently awarded India’s highest peacetime gallantry award Ashoka Chakra on Jan 26th, 2009.
