Of late, Superstar Mahesh Babu has been doing more message-oriented films. His last few films fall under the same list as Srimanthudu, Bharat Ane Nenu, Maharshi, and the recent Sarkaru Vaari Paata.
When asked whether it is a conscious move to choose message-oriented films, the actor says ‘not really.’ In a recent interview with the Deccan Chronicle, Mahesh said that he never really thinks about giving a message in his films, and it happens that way coincidentally.
He said that the characterization of the lead hero attracted him the most in Sarkaru Vaari Paata rather than the underlying message. He felt that the role had shades of Pokiri, which made him sign the film and thank director Parasuram for designing such a character.
Mahesh also stated that he goes with his gut feeling while signing a film. He doesn’t have any checklist but looks for the entertainment factor in every script he hears.
He says that he has evolved as an actor and became more mature while choosing the script. He stated that he would be the only one who takes a call in selecting his films and not anyone else.
On the work front, Mahesh’s next film is in the direction of Trivikram Srinivas.
