“Wo Stree Hai, Wo Kuch Bhi Kar Sakti Hai.” (she’s a woman, she can do anything). The haunted queen of Chanderi, unnamed till date, attacks men of the place during festivals. Dreading the possibility of being her prey, everyone in the village is scared to death. Vicky, a boy living there, too, undertakes the mission of unleashing this unknown beast.

Nobody inside or outside the industry expected her to blend into the character so effortlessly, like it’s something she’s been doing since the womb. That movie opened gates of Shraddha’s fame in movies outside romance. After romantic debut with Adtiya Roy Kapur in Aashiqui 2, she experimented with the ‘scary’ role again in Stree beside Rajkumar Rao. Rajkumar Rao announced on his Instagram the coming of Stree 2 in August, 2024. It’s theme again is gore, bloody and intimidating. But this time, the theme is, ‘O Stree Raksha Karna’ (O woman, protect us) instead of fearing her.
The original 2018 version vs this one is going to be a complete gamechanger. WIth the same crew from the first part, it’ll be interesting to see how they’ve changed the script to a positive role of the haunted woman while keeping the genre horror and suspenseful.
