Director Vivek Agnihotri is planning to make a comeback with a new movie named The Vaccine War, which is based on India’s process of developing a successful Covid-19 vaccine. Vivek Agnihotri caused a national uproar with his highly contentious film The Kashmir Files.

On Tuesday, in honour of India’s 77th Independence Day, the film’s creators released a teaser, giving viewers a glimpse into the world of the movie. Agnihotri also revealed the film’s release date, which will fall on the same day as a hotly awaited, high-profile pan-Indian film.

The 29-second teaser that Agnihotri shared on social media offers a peek at the work being done by scientists on the BBV152 vaccine, also known as Covaxin, which was created by Bharat Biotech in collaboration with the National Institute of Virology of the Indian Council of Medical Research.

The creators claim that TVW will tell the story of how scientists and 130 crore people triumphed in the conflict during the Covid-19 era. The preview shows scientists working under extremely stressful circumstances because of the high risks involved, set against an intense musical backdrop.

When the teaser is finally shown, it begins with a view of a very technologically advanced lab where the vaccine is being created. Then, in a second glimpse, it shows the scientific team proceeding towards the lift, illuminating a significant yet covert advancement in vaccine development. The teaser provides the audience with their first glimpse of Pallavi Joshi, who is portraying a scientist, and her helpers as the team enters the lift and turns around.

The movie, billed as India’s first bio-science-themed motion picture, would be released in theatres on September 28, 2023, according to the producers. This may result in a major conflict with Prabhas’ upcoming action picture Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire from Prashanth Neel.
