Daggubati Suresh Babu is one of the clever businessmen in the Telugu Film Industry. Very rarely does Suresh see the loss of money as he always has the proper planning for every risk. But, in Virata Parvam’s case, they say that not listening to his advice has cost the movie team. Before Virata Parvam, Suresh Babu produced Narappa and Drishyam 2, and both were released directly in the OTTs and brought him table profits. Sources say he thought of the same for Virata Parvam, but the director Venu Udugula and producer Sudhakar Cherukuri have pressured him for theatrical release only.
The movie was released with positive reception and rave reviews, but that is not seen in the film collections. With the break-even at around 12 to 13 Crores, Virata Parvam is doubtful to reach that amount. The release day and the weekend also saw a very dull period for the flick. Sai Pallavi’s craze on which the makers have failed to pull the audience to theatres. Many are waiting to watch the movie in OTT rather than spending money in cinema halls. According to the trade sources, the Rana Daggubati-Sai Pallavi starrer might close its theatrical run with huge losses.
