Venkatesh’s Preminchukundam Raa marks 26 years anniversary!

Venkatesh is popularly known as a family hero in the Telugu film industry. On the eve of the 26th anniversary of the evergreen super hit film Preminchukundam Raa. Fans recollect the memories about which he had with this amazing project in his career.
Prestigious production house Suresh Productions’s Preminchukundam Raa, starring ‘Victory’ Venkatesh and Anjala Zaveri in the lead, was released on May 9th, 1997 with 66 prints in 59 centres. And it created a record of sorts at that time by completing 50 days in all 59 centres and 100 days at 57 theatres across Andhra Pradesh.

Preminchukundam Raa told the story of a young couple in love amid factionalism in Rayalaseema. Venkatesh played a happy-go-lucky student called Giri from Hyderabad, who is sent to Kurnool by his parents. There he falls in love with Kaveri, his neighbour, played by Anjala Zaveri. The film was released in 1997. Screenplay by Paruchuri Brothers, a story by Dheenraj, cinematography by K Ravindra Babu and music by Mahesh Mahadevan. Preminchukundam Raa also had a shift silver jubilee run in Hyderabad. It ran for 119 days at Odeon Deluxe and was later shifted to Mini Odeon, where it ran for 56 days.

Previously Venkatesh did many films before and after Preminchukundam Raa, these films gave him the image of the family hero, which has been a big advantage throughout his career, Venkatesh as a family guy gave many projects to fans which made a remarkable mark on the audience. But recently the series he did with Rana Daggubati named Rana Naidu was criticised and Venkatesh faced some disappointing statements from his fans. Despite all these comments, Venkatesh needs a film like Preminchukundam Raa which can create the mania of the past and cherish both fans and audience.
