Varaha Roopam is back

Kantara’s most famous and loved song “Varaha Roopam” is now back on Youtube under the name of Varaha Roopam lyrical video. On october 24 a controversy blew up when a kannada based music band, Thaikkudam Bridge claimed that Varaha Roopam is copy of their song Navarasam, which was released in 2015 and three days later the band took it to the Kozhikode District Court. The Kozhikode court, on October 28, had ‘shot up Kantara Producer, Director, Music Composer and Amazon, YouTube, Spotify, Wynk Music, Jiosavan and others from playing the Song Varaha Roopam in the Film Kantara without the permission of Thaikkudam Bridge.’

On November 25 LivLawIndia tweeted “#Kantara movie song plagiarism row : Kozhikode District Court in Kerala returns the plaint filed by Thaikkudam Bridge against Hombale Films citing lack of jurisdiction. With this, the interim order passed against the use of “Varaharoopam” song loses effect.
