The movie people and fans almost forget Actress Trisha. She was sensational from 2004 to 2010, when her star was shining bright. After that, the entry of new water flushed the senior actress out of the scene. But, she is starring in a few strong roles every now and then. 96 is one film that made everyone look at her once again. Barring that, there aren’t many bright spots in her career post-2010. She is concentrating on Female oriented roles like Nayaki, Mohini etc. The recent update is that she will likely play the lead role in Raghava Lawrence’s Chandhramukhi sequel. She has projects like Ponniyan Selvan(2 parts), The Road, and a mallu film called Ram in her kitty.
Chandramukhi is a film released in 2005 and was a sensational success in Telugu and Tamil languages. The director of the film tried to replicate the success again with a similar plot through the film Nagavalli which didn’t work out. The Victory Venkatesh starrer was an absolute disaster at the box office.
On the other hand, Lawrence is also very much obsessed with Chandramukhi film ever since it was released. As a result, both Vasu and Lawrence have come together to make a sequel to Chandramukhi named Chandramukhi 2. It’s being rumoured that Trisha will play the titular role as the girl possessed by the ghost and Lawrence will be seen in Rajini’s kind of character. MM Keeravani is providing tunes while Lyca Productions is bankrolling the film.
