Tollywood’s eye feast for Pongal!

Telugu Film Industry has a special veneration for the Pongal festival. In general, the movies released on this festival are saved from huge losses even if the movie flops. Three-day holidays and the Telugu people’s interest to watch a movie in theatres is the reason behind this. That is why every superstar of Tollywood looks at Pongal’s release whenever it’s possible. For the 2022 Sankranthi too, big wigs of TFI are readying their flicks. It’s definitely an eye feast to the cinephiles.

Megastar Chiranjeevi is in the Pongal race with his remake of Vedhalam, Bhola Shankar. Directed by Meher Ramesh, this film stars Tamannaah Bhatia and Keerthy Suresh in key roles. Rambrahmam Sunkara is bankrolling the movie under AK entertainments. Chiru has a lot of hopes pinned on this film. Next in the race is Nandamuri Balakrishna’s NBK 107. Gopichand Malineni is directing this high-octane action entertainer of Balayya. Shruti Hassan, Varalakshmi Sharat Kumar, and Dunia Vijay are all portraying key roles. Mythri Movie Makers are producing the flick with an estimated budget of Rs 70 Crores.

Pan-India star Prabhas’s mythological graphics-based film Adipurush too will be hitting the silver screens in January. It’s being made on a whopping budget of Rs 500 crores. It has the star cast of Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan in key roles. Om Raut is the director of this T-series and Retrophiles production. The next actor to test his stars for Pongal is Thalapathy Vijay. His movie Varasudu is also in the race of Sankranti. Directed by Vamsi Paidipally, the flick is a family drama and is being shot in Telugu and Tamil languages. Dil Raju is bankrolling the project.
