Our Telugu film industry had a drastic high graph after the release of the legendary masterpiece Baahubali. It is not a piece of cake to collect 200 CRS, but most Tollywood movies are crossing over 200 CRS these days. It would be fair enough to say that SS Rajamouli has introduced Tollywood to the next level.
Movies like Baahubali, Baahubali 2, Saho, Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, RRR, Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, Pushpa, Rangasthalam and more crossed the mark of 200 CRS and made every Indian Proud. Since the release of Bahubali, the perception towards the Tollywood industry has changed positively. For the record, Baahubali 2 grossed about ₹7.324 billion taking the film’s total gross in India to ₹14.169 billion, which is one of the highest for a film in India.
The Tollywood industry is reaching heights not only in India but also in Hollywood, making it a special place among them. This year has been big for the Telugu film industry as it won the Golden Globes awards, made it to the BAFTA awards and even got nominated for the Oscars.
Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, released in 2019, collected over 240 CRS, and currently, Chiru’s movie Waltair Veerayya has crossed 200 CRS again. There is a high chance that this movie will earn much more in its long-term theatrical run.
