Gadar 2’s advance booking status
Some movies are loved by the audience but it doesn’t reflect in terms of monetary success. Is Gadar 2 in the same list, too? Let’s find out from it’s advance booking stability so far.
PVR, Inox and Cinepolis – the three dominating brands for movies and entertainment alone contribute to 17,200 tickets on the opening day sales. If other chains like MovieMax, MovieTime and Miraj are considered, the expectation is as high as 25,000 tickets. And with that we already stand at Rs.25 crores. There’s still a whole week left for the movie to break through, so it’s natural that the team is expecting more interest in Gadar 2 as days go by.
Gadar in 2000s started off as a movie but instantly became an emotion. Between the waging wars under the name of religion, Tara Singh and Sakina were joining dots of love in ways they least expected. Sure, the aim of the fictional characters was to unite India at it’s most vulnerable stage (which it did) but for people to take the main message of ‘love over anything’ at a time when all that borne in minds was hate and raging resistance towards the newly-divided country Pakistan was truly heartwarming to witness. Sunny Deol’s fierce acting and encouragement about Hindustan while not forgetting his duties as a husband to keep his family protected were the key factors in the movie.
But, we want to know what happens after the chaos has settled. For that, the makers are blessing us with Gadar 2. Charanjeet, Tara Singh’s son is trapped with the Pakistan officers and like the warrior-spirit man that he is, without a flinch, he goes back to Lahore to bring back his son. This reunion happens when Tara Singh once again faces Pakistani officers and shatters them to pieces with his dialogues.
Featuring Sunny Deol’s real-life son Karan Deol and the OG Ameesha Patel-Sunny Deol Jodi, Gadar 2 releases in theatres on August 11th, 2023.
