Acharya and Sakraru Vaari Paata are two of Tollywood’s recent theatrical outings. While Acharya was a disaster in terms of box office returns, Sarkaru Vaari Paata, which had also garnered a not-so-encouraging word of mouth is putting on a good show.
Acharya suffered heavy drops right from evening and night shows on the opening day itself. It reported Rs 28 crore opening in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana which is a shockingly low number for a Chiranjeevi-Ram Charan multip-starrer.
But in the case of Sarkaru Vaari Paata which has also garnered a mixed response, the film is set to post non-RRR opening day records post the pandemic. The film has breached the lifetime collections of Acharya – $985K from the premieres and early day 1 collections itself.
The shocking difference between Acharya and Sarkaru Vaari Paata’s performance with a similar word of mouth is interesting as it can get.
