Mani Ratnam’s Magnum Opus Ponniyin Selvan is getting ready to hit the screens in two installments. Produced jointly by Lyca Productions and Madras Talkies, the movie has many Pan-India celebrities starring in the film, raising the expectations to the sky.
As announced earlier, ‘Ponniyin Selvan-1’ teaser got released today evening amid a lot of expectations.
The trailer showcased all the stellar cast of the film including Aishwarya Rai, Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sarath Kumar, Vikram Prabhu, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prakash Raj, Jayaram, Prabhu and Parthiban.
Though the teaser hasn’t revealed any story plot except the dialogue of Vikram, as said by the director, the story is based on Kalki’s eponymous Tamil novel that was serialised in the 1950s and has remained a sensational success.
Also the shots in the teaser clearly portrays that the plot is set in the 10th century during the Chola Empire.
While AR Rahman has scored the music for the film, Thota Tharani has been Production Designer.
