The Kerala Story filmmakers have reunited for another upcoming film titled Bastar. Directed by Sudipto Sen after his controversial and critically acclaimed movie The Kerala Story has been a success in theatres.
Bastar is also said to be about the uncovered truths of the nation. Bastar is a majorly tribal-populated district in Chhattisgarh. The major tribes comprising 63% of the Bastar region are the Gond, Abhuj Maria, bhatra. The tribes of the Bastar region are known for their unique and distinctive tribal culture and heritage.
Bastar is also a deep forest-rooted region that was a hub for Naxalites during times. The movie plot has not been revealed yet but going by the title and poster captioning “The hidden truth that will take you by storm” seems to be centered around the Naxalites of this region.
Sudipto Sen and Vipul Amrutlal Shah collaborated for the second time after their The Kerala Story breaking records at theatres. Sunshine Pictures Pvt Ltd jointly producing with Last Monk Media, Bastar still is under development, and the cast for the movie is yet to be decided. The film is slated to release next year on April 5.
