Kangana Ranaut’s directorial film ”Emergency ” from a screenplay By Ritesh Shah is based on the 1977 Indian emergency, it stars Kangana as former Prime Minister of India Indira Gandhi.
The film shooting was completed in January 2023 and ever since is in the post-production stage and recently completed its first editing. According to a source, Vijayendra Prasad, screenwriter of the Bahhubali and RRR is very impressed with the first editing of the film. Previously she took inputs from him during the making and editing of Manikarnika and Thailavii.
The extended cast of Emergency includes the critically acclaimed actor Anupam Ker star as Jaya Prakash Narayan, Shreyas Talpade star as Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Mahima Chaudhary star as Pupul Jayakar, Milind Soman, and Vishak Nair. It’s Kangana’s most anticipated directorial film with Cinematography by Tesuto Nagata and music by G.V Prakash Kumar. Kangan is producing the film under the banner Manikarnika Films and edited by Ramesh S Bagath. Releasing date is yet to be announced by the team.
