The famous song “This is America” by Donald Grover was mocked by Drake, but why?

The well-known rapper Drake is now on his “It’s All a Blur” tour, and some fans think that during his most recent performance, he tried to insult Donald Gover, better known by his stage name Childish Gambino.

The video, which a fan recorded and posted to Twitter, shows Drake starting his rendition of his 2011 song “Headlines” as a series of unimportant headlines illuminated the stage. This is America by Glover was expressly mentioned in one headline. “The overrated and overawarded hit song “This is America” was originally a Drake diss record,” ran the headline.

There is some truth to the headline, despite the fact that some may think the diss was unnecessary. Glover, going by the stage name Childish Gambino, admitted to GQ earlier this year that the idea for “This is America” actually began as a diss at Drake.

Drake made fun of Donald Glover for disclosing the song’s origins in an interview. Glover claims that he came up with the funny premise for “This Is America” in 2015. Hiro Murai, a director, expressed interest in seeing it come to reality after hearing about it from him. Gover stated, “To be totally honest, ‘This is America’.”

Glover elaborated on his remarks on a subsequent interview on The Breakfast Club, highlighting his competitive attitude, saying, “Every rapper should feel that way. I specifically included certain rappers [in his songs] because I believe they are the best. “Kendrick, Drake, ScHoolboy, I listen to them all the time,” he said. Kendrick doesn’t mind at all. Drake probably isn’t handling it well.

Drake doesn’t seem to have taken Glover’s mocking of Drake as a joke despite his humorous reaction. Drake, who is well known for his attention to detail, made sure to bring up the issue during his tour.
