All the DC fans know who Zack Snyder is, and the writer, about a decade ago, developed a storyline for the DC extended universe involving Lois Lane getting pregnant with Bruce Wayne. This subplot unfolded in Justice League with Batman dying in the sequel and Lois raising their son with Superman.
Warner Bros. and DC Studios, which firmly grip their intellectual property, rejected Snyder’s ideas. They seemed creepy to many, but in the coming decade, artists don’t need permission to create their own take on these characters.
DC has been preparing for this for years. CEO James Gunn shared that the next Superman film will introduce characters from The Authority, another comic series launched in 1999.
Sims believes that more superhero comics will be good, but it will come down to execution. Zack Snyder could reshoot it and make his iteration of it, but one has to be careful. Sims said it could be a story that cannot be called Justice League.
