According to sources, Sunny Deol has agreed to star in this Nitesh Tiwari-directed epic trilogy and is thrilled to play a character who will go down in Indian cinema history. “Sunny Deol is ecstatic to have gotten the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to play Lord Hanuman. It’s a casting made in heaven, as Lord Hanuman represents strength, and who better than Sunny Deol in today’s times to play the role with utmost conviction,” said a source close to the project.
The actor will begin shooting for his role in Ramayana: Part One in May 2024. “While Sunny Deol makes a guest appearance in Ramayana: Part One, he will be fully present in the second and third installments of the epic trilogy. The makers are confident that Sunny Deol will become synonymous with Lord Hanuman in modern times, following Dara Singh,” the source added.
