World-renowned actress and every Indian favorite, Sridevi is also someone who was often cited as the first female superstar of Indian Cinema. The actress was found dead in Dubai on Feb 24, 2018, in a bathtub. Her demise was a shock to many Indians.

Sridevi’s older daughter, Janhvi Kapoor made her acting debut just a few months after her mother’s demise with a romantic drama Dhadak. In an interview, when asked if he feels bad about Sridevi unable to see her daughter acting on screen.

According to Sridevi’s husband and Janhvi’s father and producer Boney Kapoor, Sridevi did see her daughter on screen. The producer further continued saying, “We had seen the rushes of Dhadak when Sridevi was alive. So, she had seen her daughter on screen. Khushi had auditioned, too, and after Janhvi’s audition, she got a scholarship at the New York Film Academy.”

Boney Kapoor also further said that if Sridevi had been alive, she would have worked with Janhvi in the movie Kalank. When Janhvi grew up, filmmaker Karan Johar came home and expressed his desire to launch her. He wanted to make Shiddat later released as Kalank with Janhvi.

Janhvi Kapoor and Sridevi would’ve portrayed characters later played by Alia Bhatt and Madhuri Dixit. If Sridevi was alive, it’d have been Shiddat as she had agreed to do the film reluctantly.
