Sir Telugu Version Leads In BMS and In USA

Actor Dhanush, who is looking forward to creating a good market in Tollywood by his bilingual film Sir, bagged good response from the Telugu audience. The film was released and is receiving positive reviews.

The promotions of the film in Telugu also played a key role. Interestingly, Telugu version took the lead in the USA premieres by grossing 37697$, while the Tamil version gross currently stands at 14780$. Also, in BookMyShow rating Telugu version scored above 90, while it around 85 for Tamil version (there can be subjective change)

Directed by Venky Atluri, Sir has been simultaneously shot in Telugu and Tamil. It’s titled Sir in Telugu and Vaathi in Tamil. Both versions of the film were released worldwide on Friday. The film is set in the 1990s, and had a spotlight on privatization of the education system and how one man fought against it. The film marks Dhanush’s debut in the Telugu industry. It also stars Samyuktha and Samuthirakani in key roles.

Meanwhile, Dhanush is currently filming his upcoming Tamil action-thriller Captain Miller, which marks his maiden collaboration with filmmaker Arun Matheswaran.
