Sara Ali Khan, who was papped recently leaving Jamnagar post-Ambani’s pre-wedding celebrations, is currently gearing up for her upcoming film Ae Watan Mere Watan. The makers unveiled the trailer on March 4 on various social media platforms today.

The 2-minute 52-second trailer introduces viewers to 22-year-old Usha, a college student in Bombay. Driven by her unwavering commitment to India’s freedom, she established an underground radio station, uniting the nation against the British.
While being attacked by British personnel for protesting, a young woman defiantly retrieves her Swaraj flag from the ground, shouting, “Do or die”. This shot sets the stage for the upcoming film Ae Watan Mere Watan, which delves into the woman’s resilient struggles during the Quit India Movement of 1942, where her voice “united the nation”.
In talking about the trailer, Sara Ali Khan said, “To embody the spirit of my character and diving into her consciousness and understanding what motivates and inspires her has been humbling and empowering.”
Who’s the cast of Ae Watan Mere Watan?
The movie is a Dharmatic Entertainment production produced by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta and Somen Mishra. Directed by Kannan Iyer, the film has been written by Iyer and Darab Farooqui.
The movie features actor Sara Ali Khan in the lead alongside Sachin Khedekar, Abhay Verma, Sparsh Shrivastav, Alexx O’Nell and Anand Tiwari in pivotal roles.

Emraan Hashmi is said to be doing a memorable cameo in the film. Talking about the film, he expressed his sentiments about the story as a heartfelt and lesser-known chapter from India’s freedom struggle and called it a different genre he has done so far.

Produced by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Somen Mishra under the banner of Dharmatic Entertainment, the film is all set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on March 21.
