Pongal of 2023 seems to be all heated up. The stars are all lined up to have Sankranti release. Prabhas, Pawan Kalyan, Megastar Chiranjeevi, Ram Charan, Vijay Deverakonda, and Thalapathy Vijay all seem to be set to lock horns in the next year’s first month. Prabhas has a few projects in the pipeline and the first of them to come out could be Adipurush. Based on Ramayana, this film has Prabhas starring as Lord Rama, Kriti Sanon as Sita, and Saif Ali Khan as Ravan. The movie was shot in Telugu and Hindi simultaneously at a rapid pace. 90 percent of the film is said to be in VFX. Right now, the post-production is being done after which the movie team will be ready with the promotions. T-series and Retrophiles are bankrolling this Magnum opus.
Then there is Powerstar. His movie under the direction of Krish Jagarlamudi is one of the interesting projects on set this year. Pawan portrays the role of a warrior called HariHara Veera Mallu in this periodical fictional movie. After the sensational hit of Bhimla Nayak, expectations are sky-high on HHVM. According to movie sources, Pawan urged Krish to complete the shoot ASAP and release it for the upcoming Pongal. Accordingly, the movie is being shot at a brisk pace. Being a periodical movie, it has a lot of VFX which may take a considerable amount of time in post-production. Sources say that Powerstar is essaying the role like Robinhood and will be an eye feast to the fans. HHVM is starring Nidhi Aggarwal beside Pawan and is produced by ace producer AM Ratnam.
Megastar Chiranjeevi is not going to stop any soon as he has lined up movies with various directors. As Acharya has bombed at the box office, mega fans have their hopes pinned on the Meher Ramesh directorial Bhola Shankar. This is the remake of Ajith Kumar’s superhit Vedalam. According to the movie sources, Chiru will be seen in two kinds of avatars in the movie. Meher has made a few tweaks here are there in the script to make it more likable to the Telugu audience. Bhola will be in theatres for the next Pongal as the shooting is in full swing. Megapowestar Ram Charan’s RC15 with ace director Shankar and produced by Dil Raju may also look at the 2023 Pongal as the release date, according to sources.
Vijay Deverakonda’s next, tentatively titled VD 11 is being shot in Jammu and Kashmir at a brisk pace. Directed by Ninnu Kori and Majili fame Shiva Nirvana, VD will be romancing Samantha Ruth Prabhu. The title and first look will be released today celebrating Vijay’s birthday. The film is slated for the Pongal release too. Talking of Vijay, Thalapathy Vijay is gearing up for 2023 Pongal as well. His movie, Thalapathy66 is on back-to-back schedules now and is looking at Sankranti’s release. Directed by Vamsi Padipally and bankrolled by Dil Raju, the movie has the tunes of SS Thaman.
