Samyuktha opens up about why she dropped her surname.

Actor Samyuktha Menon, popular for Samantha-like looks and her Telugu film Bheemla Nayak, is all set for her next release, “Sir… Starring Dhanush, the film is all set to release on February 17. Amidst this, a news item that caught everyone’s attention is that the actress has dropped the surname “Menon” from her name. She announced her decision during the promotional event of her upcoming Tamil-Telugu bilingual film “Vaathi,” starring Dhanush.

She said, “This thought occurred to me long ago.” When we are enrolled in a school, we need a name for official purposes. So we never thought so much about it back then. I always used to think about why people have this “tail.” The thought really struck me when I became an actor. When I understood the responsibility of an actor, I realized I shouldn’t have it (a surname).

“When I want to see equality, humanity, and love all around, keeping a surname is very contradictory to what I want.” Also, my parents are divorced, and my mother wished to not retain my father’s surname. “I wanted to respect my mother’s feelings,” she concluded

This speech by Samyukta is going viral on social media. Meanwhile, going by trailer, Samyuktha has been roped in to play a biology teacher in Venky Atluri’s directorial “Vaathi,” which is being released as “Sir” in Telugu.
