He set the bar for Bollywood romance and drama with movies like ‘K3G’, ‘My Name is Khan’, etc.
The latest from the KJo romance-verse is a rom-com family drama titled “Rocky aur Rani kii prem kahaani” starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the title roles along with seasoned actors such as Jaya Bhachan, Dharmendra, and Shabana Azmi. The teaser was released on June 20th, marking the director’s 51st birthday and his 25th year in the Bollywood industry, for which he was honored by the British Parliament for his contribution to the ‘global entertainment industry’.
His debut actor, King Khan, penned a sweet message on this occasion, saying, “Wow Karan Johar 25 years as a filmmaker. You’ve come a long way baby!! Your father and my friend Tom uncle [Yash Johar] must be seeing this from heaven and feeling extremely happy and proud.” The teaser looks to be a classic Dharma film, with Alia Bhatt in more costumes than one can count, colorful bright sets, intense family emotions, and beautiful chemistry from the ‘Gullyboy’ pair. Fans are excited to see the “Sharuk Khan-KJo” type of magic they grew up with recreated on-screen once again!
