Luv Ranjan’s new rom-com Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar hit the theatres this Wednesday 8th of March but does casting heartthrobs make the movie rule over the audience’s hearts when the content itself is misleading? How justifiable is it to break one’s relationship by choosing to hire a part-time service provider, instead of being honest with how one feels? The character certainly is a red flag.
Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor as the main leads of Tu Jhooti main Makkar takes us on a dramedy ride. Mickey(Ranbir Kapoor) and Tinni (Shraddha Kapoor) were in love but soon Tinni wants to call it off and hires her partner to break their relationship. The film also features Karthik Aryan in a cameo and other promising actors like Dimple Kapadia, Anurag, Pritam and the list goes on.
The film normalises s*xism, hypocrisy and gender discrimination hate could have been possible only because of the artists’ tremendous performance. If you are someone who enjoys melodrama and family drama this is the pick for you the songs are well received by the audience but the themes like women’s ambition playing the antagonist are a big no-no. Overall the film is hilarious and if you believe films need not make sense but ought to entertain then you should go for it.
