Ranbir Kapoor reacts to Animal’s ‘toxic masculinity! Says a very healthy conversation about toxic masculinity has begun

Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s violent action Animal was one of the most talked-about films last year. It was released on Netflix on January 26, and the cast, including Ranbir Kapoor, Bobby Deol, and Anil Kapoor, recently sat down for an interview with Anubhav Singh Bassi, where they discussed the film’s violent and dark world.

Animal received negative reviews after its release, with many criticizing the film for being misogynistic and glorifying toxic masculinity. Ranbir addressed the issue, saying, “A very healthy conversation about toxic masculinity has begun as well, which is fantastic because cinema, at the very least, starts a conversation. If something is wrong and you do not show that it is wrong, and unless a conversation begins in society, we will never realize it.”

Bobby Deol asked Ranbir if he was tired from filming so much action in Animal, to which he replied, “No because this was the first time I got to do action like this.” Although both of you have appeared in numerous action films, this is my first. Bobby goes on to say, “It is like you have got rid of all the frustration here,” “Yes, all of it!” Ranbir says.

Further expanding on the action in Animal, Ranbir Kapoor stated that Sandeep Reddy Vanga has a distinct sense of how to shoot action. He is not like the other directors, who would place an action sequence in the middle. But Sandeep weaves a story into that action sequence. “The interval sequence has a graph. I think the climax fight, where he used B Praak’s song, is very novel. While watching the film, the audience enjoys the fact that it is not your typical action film. “Every moment is unique and meaningful,” Ranbir added.
