Power Star Pawan Kalyan has the unmatchable following and craze in the Telugu states. His fans consider him a demigod and the collections for his movies prove the same point. There is a saying in film circles that “Pawan Kalyan doesn’t have fans…he has devotees”. He maintained the same fan base without a single hit in the span of ten years. Apart from his style, mannerisms, and acting skills, his helping nature and introverted personality outside movies fetched him more fans.
Mega Power Star Ram Charan who is very close to Pawan Kalyan, seems to have imparted similar traits from his Babai in terms of personality and helping nature. RC regularly participates in helping and social service activities without limelight on him.
RC has multiple industry hits and blockbuster movies under his belt. However, he had to face severe criticism in his early days. During the Thoofan days, critics attached a “wooden face” tag to his name and that hurt the image of Mega star Chiranjeevi. In addition to this, he used to select poor scripts which hurt the reputation further. Orange, Raccha, Nayak, Zanzeer/Thoofan, Bruce lee, Govindudu andhari Vaadele. These are the movies where he couldn’t justify the roles he played. Even though some of his movies got good openings, those are purely based on the family tag.
Fast forward to RRR, Ram Charan is a completely different person with a different image. Dhruva and Rangasthalam made him a complete actor and critics don’t have anything to poke at RC’s acting capabilities. People who criticized RC for his acting appreciated him for his dedication towards the character he played in the movie. Many people started to see him as a next power star.
Meanwhile, Pawan Kalyan said that he will not be continue his acting career after this year and wants to be full time politician.
Can Ram Charan fill the shoes of Pawan Kalyan in terms of stardom? Time will answer.
