Rajini’s BABA to have re-release digitally

Rajinikanth’s supernatural action entertainer Baba which released in 2002, had left fans of Rajinikanth unbelievably disappointed. The movie is directed by Suresh Krishna and bankrolled by Rajinikanth.

The movie creates more hype and buzz prior to its release with amid humongous expectations was bombed at the box office, after which the star reconsidered to his decision to quit films. He also settled the loss of distributors who lost money after the movie failed to meet the expectations.

After a three-year hiatus, he made a huge comeback with Chandramukhi, and there was no looking back for the numero uno hero of Kollywood.

Though the film failed to impress the audience at the time of its theatrical release, over the past years the movie attained cult status among movie buffs. As per latest reports, we have now, it is heard that the movie’s release will be in a digitally enhanced and trimmed version.

The film starred Manisha Koirala as the female lead. Actors Goundamani, Delhi Ganesh, Sujatha, MN Nambiar Ashish Vidyarthi, Sayaji Shinde, Sangavi and Karunaas formed the supporting cast. The film had music from Oscar-winner AR Rahman.
